More than 179 million Americans plan to participate in Halloween festivities this year, according to the National Retail Federation’s annual Halloween survey. That’s up from 171 million last year, with spending slated to reach a record high in survey history. Of those planning to celebrate the holiday, 16 percent intend to dress up their pets, according to NRF.
